SR 71

To extend the life of 700 East (State Route 71), the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will resurface the asphalt, replace existing raised medians, and upgrade non-compliant ADA pedestrian ramps along 700 East (SR-71) between 11500 South and 12300 South and approximately 600 feet west of 700 East on 12300 South in Draper. Construction is planned to begin August 10 and complete by the end of October, 2026.. This work will help keep the road smooth, last longer, and make your daily drive more comfortable. Alert: Paving Begins August 19 700 East Closed Tonight & Tomorrow Night (8/19 & 20) 700 East will be closed in both directions at the TRAX lines near Kimballs Lane tonight, Wednesday, August 19 and tomorrow night, Thursday, August 20 from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. while crews remove and repave asphalt next to the tracks. 700 East will be reduced to one lane in each direction during paving Through traffic will be detoured to 1000 East at 11400 South and 12300 South. Local access will be provided up to but not across the tracks. Kimball's Lane will also be closed at the tracks (see map below) ?700 East/12300 South Intersection Restricted Tonight, the intersection of 700 East and 12300 South will be reduced to one lane in each direction while crews pave through the intersection.
