Beginning Monday, August 17 through approximately August 27: Crews will be lowering utilities in the shoulders and all lanes in preparation for paving. This process will move from 1700 South to 400 South in the shoulder, then continue south in the shoulder before moving to the inside travel lanes. This process, called "race-tracking," will then proceed in the same circular pattern through all lanes. Beginning Monday, August 24 through approximately August 28: Asphalt removal (milling) to tie in the side streets is expected for up to four nights. This is a moving operation that will spend a few hours at each location. Beginning as early as August 26 for approximately 3 weeks: Paving will occur nightly, moving from 1700 South to 400 South and back, also in the "race-track" pattern described above.. No parking will be allowed on 700 E in this section during the day or at night. Bicycles will be detoured to 500 E. At night, Drivers can expect NB traffic to be reduced to one lane & SB traffic to be reduced to two lanes nightly. Area residents can expect nighttime noise, vibration & light during this work. During the day, Expect intermittent single lane closures from 8 am to 3 pm. near the work location. Vehicles that remain on 700 E in the shifted section will be relocated. Alerts: Motorists can expect single lane closures during the day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in areas where crews are removing and replacing pedestrian ramps. Motorists can expect single lane closures at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. between 1300 South and 1700 South while crews remove and replace asphalt.
