Crews are installing fiber optic cables to improve broadband access. --------------------- PROJECT BACKGROUND: The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in partnership with the National Parks Service, is undertaking a significant project to install middle-mile fiber optics to support last-mile connectivity to communities along State Route (SR) 9, SR-89, and US-20. This initiative is part of UDOT's broader effort to expand and modernize the state's fiber optic infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) throughout Utah.
