ALERT: Expect multiple work zones through SR-9 with both shoulder work and one-way traffic Monday through Thursday (daytime and nighttime work) in Zion National Park and shoulder work in Hurricane, Rockville, and Mount Carmel. Crews are installing fiber optic cables to improve broadband access. --------------------- PROJECT BACKGROUND: The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in partnership with the National Parks Service, is undertaking a significant project to install middle-mile fiber optics to support last-mile connectivity to communities along State Route 9 and the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. This initiative is part of UDOT's broader effort to expand and modernize the state's fiber optic infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) throughout Utah.
