US 40

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is repaving a 1-mile section of U.S. Highway 40 near the Wasatch and Duchesne County line as well as a 7-mile section between Fruitland and SR-208. Starting 9/21: Crews are conducting roadway reconstruction and paving at Red Creek (between MP 65-65.7). While reconstruction and paving is underway near Red Creek, US-40 is narrowed to one-way traffic with a 12-foot-wide lane during daytime and nighttime hours as well as on weekends, directed by flaggers or temporary signals. Expect delays. While paving occurs between 9/21 and 9/30, drivers should anticipate 2-3 hours closures of side streets while paving equipment passes by and the new asphalt cures. Work is anticipated to be completed by late November 2026.
