Traffic Alert: Construction is underway on US 40

Traffic Alert: Construction is underway on US-40 to install 130 miles of fiber-optic cable between Heber City and the Colorado state line. Work will occur in segments; active work zones now between Heber City and Fort Duchesne. -- Lane widths may be reduced to 11' with a 2' shoulder and speed limits may be reduced in active work areas. -- Project Background: UDOT will install fiber optic conduit and cables along US-40 to support last-mile connectivity to communities across northeastern Utah. This project will install over 100 miles of fiber-optic cable and is estimated to wrap up in fall 2026.
