Central Utah Fiber Project -- TRAFFIC ALERT: Crews are installing conduit lines and fiber optic cables along the roadway shoulder on SR-28 between Salina and Nephi, on US-89 between Gunnison and Sterling, and on US-50 between Scipio and Salina through the end of 2026. Use caution when traveling through the area. Expect shoulder closures and truck traffic entering or leaving the work zones. -- PROJECT OVERVIEW Crews are installing regional fiber-optic infrastructure along state highways in Central Utah to improve communications, support emergency services, and help nearby communities expand broadband access.
