US 89
ALERT: Northbound US-89 at the 2000 West (SR-126) junction will close to northbound travel from Monday, Aug. 24, to Friday, Aug. 29, for bridge work. Traffic on US-89 has been shifted and reduced to one lane in each direction while crews replace the subgrade layers, make drainage improvements, and repave the road. Travel lanes between Saddleback Road and 300 North have been shifted to the east side of the road. 750 N: Because of the width restrictions and lane configurations, we encourage oversized truck loads traveling on 750 N to continue straight onto I-15 and call our project hotline (435) 280-8090 to accommodate restrictions. DESCRIPTION: UDOT will construct improvements along US-89 from the US-89/SR-126 intersection to just south of Hargis Hill Road in Willard. These improvements will replace subgrade material (e.g., compacted gravel) and pavement which has reached its operational expectancy and become unstable. Additionally, much of the existing drainage along this section of US-89 will be upgraded to avoid pooling and runoff during stormy weather. This will extend the lifetime of the road, while creating a safer, more comfortable road for drivers.
