Construction on 5

Beginning Wednesday, July 15, 2026, until further notice: Up to two lanes in both directions of I-5 will close nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., between Koontz Road (milepost 69) and Salzer Creek (milepost 80) for paving work. Most work will take place at night when traffic is lighter. Occasional nighttime weekend closures may also be needed. Travelers should slow down, stay focused and expect delays, especially when traffic is reduced to a single lane.
